This category of business visa is aimed at people who are hoping to come to the UK as passive investors. As with most countries the UK welcomes wealthy individuals and if you have the necessary funds it is relatively easy to get a visa for investor purposes.

• You must have at least £1 million in your control to invest in the UK, of which at least £750,000 must be invested in:
• Unit trusts
• Private companies

If you are granted a business visa under the category of an Investor you are eligible to stay in the UK for a period of 12 months. Within these 12 months you should ensure that you transfer funds to the UK after a maximum of three months. Once your initial 12 months have come to an end you can apply for your visa to be extended for another three years if you wish. These extensions are normally successful as long as you have transferred funds within three months and that any reduction in the value of an investment is only due to fluctuations in share prices as well as the total level of investment being in excess of one million.
